12 years old and pregnant
""How do you tell a 12-year-old girl that her body is going to change?""
Armand Djimafo, head doctor at the health center
A few months ago, Armand Djimafo discovered the pregnancy of a 12-year-old girl at the health center in Cameroon. He wasn't the only one surprised by the diagnosis - the child had no idea what was going on in her body. "When we told her the diagnosis, she was shocked and scared," Dr. Armand Djimafo reports. "I sat in front of her and asked myself: How do you tell a 12-year-old girl that her body is going to change? That there is a high probability of a caesarean section because her body is not yet ready for childbirth? And that the risk of complications during childbirth will be much higher for her?"We would like to be able to better meet the needs of women and expectant mothers with the following measures:
- Construction of a women's clinic with operating room, so that we can better accompany women and girls during and after pregnancy.
- Starter kit for new mothers - contains lots of information as well as the most important items for the first few days. By the way, you can also finance such a starter kit! 🙂
- Education and prevention - so that it doesn't get that far in the first place!
Support for expectant mothers!
With concrete projects! Sustainable aid that reaches Cameroon!
With the following donation packages, we are actively and sustainably focusing on one of the most vulnerable groups - expectant mothers! In close cooperation with the local population, we would like to strengthen health care and further expand the medical health centre in Bekoko to meet the needs of expectant mothers and women.
No Christmas present yet? 🎄
Feel like giving something meaningful and fine? How about a mother sponsorship worth CHF 120 and some fine dried fruit from Cameroon?
A mother sponsorship provides an expectant mother with a healthier pregnancy. This allows us to educate, counsel and perform all the necessary checks and examinations to ensure that your baby is born healthy. We are there too - every mother is accompanied by us at the birth. To ensure that the gift arrives before Christmas, we can only accept orders until December 19.
