Appeal for donations for urgently needed laboratory equipment 🔬

Our health center in Bekoko has been open for almost exactly 2 months.
The local health staff have already provided medical care to well over 2,000 people seeking help – what a start!
Every day, the huge rush shows us impressively how important the service is already for the whole region.
One thing is clear to everyone: after the energy of the build-up, the long-term test now follows for everyone involved – will we be able to cope with the huge crowds and high expectations?
Everyone involved is highly motivated – your support is now crucial to our success. A major problem in the agglomeration of Douala: there is a widespread lack of basic medical equipment.
When the unexpected opportunity arose to purchase two laboratory devices for blood tests at a reasonable price, we had to take action.
Thanks to the great expertise of our team, we can now carry out blood tests.
And not only for our patients, but also as a service provider for the region.
In addition to all sorts of minor complications in the start-up phase, the laboratory equipment was a real drain on our coffers.
Even though we are thrifty wherever possible, we are still short of CHF 1,400 for this important investment.
Will you help us overcome this next hurdle with a donation?
Every franc and every spread of the word helps – thank you!

The form is not published.

A short report from our doctor Armand

The Mindray BC-10 is a laboratory device with which we can perform complete blood counts (CBC) with 20 parameters and 3 histograms.
The complete blood count (CBC) is one of the most commonly ordered blood tests performed anywhere in the world.
It can detect a variety of diseases such as anemia, infections and leukemia.
Since our goal is to provide the best quality of care to every patient when they need it, it was necessary for our center to obtain this device as this analysis cannot be done anywhere else in Bekoko.
The device will therefore help to provide a high standard of care to our patients.
It will also enable us to improve the quality of care in the Douala agglomeration in general, as other health facilities can send blood samples for our laboratory to carry out the blood test for their patients.
